For all transactions, use the following test bank, UPI, and wallet numbers to trigger all validations and transfers for Payouts and Cashgram. Add these details while adding the beneficiary, and mock the transfer responses to the provided results. This page covers the following topics:

Sandbox overview

Transfers to any details other than the ones listed below fail. Test mode payouts and validations simulate a live payout but don’t get processed with the bank.
All payment modes and validations must be enabled by Cashfree on both the test and production environments before you attempt a transfer. Raise a request through the Support Form to enable them.

Test account details

The SMS notification service is unavailable in the test environment. The OTP is 111000 for all OTP requests.

Bank numbers

For bank transfers, the primary parameters are the bank account number and IFSC code supplied when adding a beneficiary. Use the following test bank numbers to simulate each transfer outcome. These values work only with test API keys.

Wallet numbers

For wallet transfers, the primary parameter is the phone number supplied when adding a beneficiary. Use the following wallet numbers to test transfers to a wallet. These values work only with test API keys.

UPI numbers

For UPI transfers, the primary parameter is the VPA supplied when adding a beneficiary. Use the following VPAs to test UPI payouts. These values work only with test API keys.

Security and tooling

While in TEST mode, as long as valid external bank information and other relevant conditions get covered, it never requires real identity verification or other interactive steps that are part of the custom account workflow. We also provide a robust postman collection to help test and get started. The security is on the Bearer token approach, and everything is on https. Also, as another security feature, we accept requests only from whitelisted servers. However, in cases of elastic load balancers, static IPs are not an option. We support dynamic IP architecture through a public key encryption method.

Alternate beneficiary identification

Cashfree Payouts also supports identifying a beneficiary without a full bank account or VPA. Use the following test values to simulate transfers using a phone number combined with card digits or a beneficiary name.

Payouts through phone number and last 4 digits of credit card

Use these test values to simulate a transfer identified by phone number and the last 4 digits of the beneficiary’s card.

Payouts through phone number and beneficiary name

Use these test values to simulate a transfer identified by phone number and beneficiary name.
Complete all integration testing in the sandbox environment before deploying to production. For broader recommendations on building reliable integrations, see API best practices.
