Offline Payments supports the following three collection point types, depending on your business model:
Use this model when you have physical store locations and want customers to scan a static QR code to pay, with funds credited directly to your account.Best suited for:
  • Retail shops
  • Restaurants
  • Multi-outlet businesses
  • Clinics and salons
Key capabilities:
  • One QR code per store location
  • Multiple stores settle into a single bank account
  • Simple setup with no dedicated hardware required
Example: A grocery store owner with multiple outlets creates separate QR codes for each location while receiving all payments into a single account.
Use this model when your agents collect payments on your behalf at the point of service, with all collections settling into a single business account.Best suited for:
  • Delivery businesses (cash on delivery)
  • Logistics companies
  • Restaurants
  • Field service teams
  • Loan recovery agents
Key capabilities:
  • Add multiple agents under one business account
  • Support for both cash and digital payments
  • Centralised tracking of all collections
Example: A restaurant owner allows waitstaff to collect payments at the customer’s table, with all amounts settling into a single business account.
Use this model when you need per-customer visibility for fees, loans, or recurring charges using a unique UPI ID or QR code for each customer.Best suited for:
  • Lending businesses (loan repayments)
  • Educational institutions (fee collection)
  • Logistics companies
  • Subscription and recurring payments
Key capabilities:
  • Unique Virtual Payment Address (VPA) per customer
  • Simplified reconciliation
  • Real-time payment tracking
Example: A lending company assigns each borrower a unique VPA to track repayments automatically without manual matching.
Each new collection point must reach Active status before you can collect payments on it.

Step 3: Complete KYC verification for each collection point

Each storefront, agent, or Customer VPA follows its own checks and document rules until Cashfree marks the point as verified. Until verification finishes, the point cannot be used to collect payments. For field-level requirements, screenshots, and troubleshooting, refer to KYC and Verification.

Step 4: Start collecting payments

When a collection point is Active, you can collect payments through the softPOS application. Review Payment Methods for a detailed explanation of each payment method available on the softPOS application.
All transactions, cash and digital, are visible in a single dashboard. Review Manage settlements to understand how and when funds are transferred to your bank account.
